VITOR BENITE
Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Brazilians who are currently playing abroad.

Vitor Benite
Vitor Benite
#1. This week's number one is an international shooting guard Vitor Benite (192-90, currently plays in Spain). He could not help Burgos (13-19) in their last game. Despite Benite's very good performance Burgos lost 81-89 on the road to the higher-ranked (#7) Zaragoza. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Benite also added 4 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. It was Burgos' fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Benite has relatively good stats this year: 11.9ppg, 2.3rpg, 2FGP: 53.8%, 3FGP: 42.5% and FT: 78.3% in 20 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

Hatila Passos
Hatila Passos
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in Uruguay). Passos was not able to help Malvin (4-1) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the first-placed Malvin (4-1) was edged 83-80 in a derby game by the second-ranked Aguada in the Places 1-6 group. Passos recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. This season Passos has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 61.0%(150-246) and FT: 70.5%. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Uruguayan. Former Paulistano/Unimed Sao Paolo starter played for the Brazilian national team in 2010.

Leonardo Demetrio
Leonardo Demetrio
#3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94, currently plays in Spain). Demetrio led RETAbet BB to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked Palencia Baloncesto (19-15) crushing them 93-73 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a mere 17 minutes. RETAbet Bilbao Basket (24-10) is placed second in the LEB Gold. This year Demetrio averages: 8.5ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 63.8%(97-152), 3FGP: 34.0% and FT: 47.4% in 32 games. He played for the Brazilian national team three years ago.

Rafael Freire Luz
Rafael Freire Luz

Point guard Rafael Freire Luz (188-92, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Andorra (16-17) in their game against FC Barcelona (24-7) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Freire Luz scored 6 points and had 3 steals. Andorra was edged 82-79 at home by the much higher-ranked FC Barcelona (#3). There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Freire Luz's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 5.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg. Freire Luz is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Spanish. He is also Brazilian national team player.

Augusto Lima
Augusto Lima
#5. International center Augusto Lima (206-91, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vitor Benite. But that was another game of his team in Spanish Liga Endesa which we would like to mention. Lima couldn't help Burgos (13-19) in their game against Baskonia (25-6). He scored only 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Burgos was defeated 87-79 in Vitoria by the second-ranked Baskonia. Lima's overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg and 5.2rpg. The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

#1. Ayan Carvalho (196-G/F-97, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) could not help Deportivo Viedma (15-11) in their last game. Despite Carvalho's very good performance Deportivo Viedma (#4) lost 88-102 on the road to the second-ranked Centro Espanol Plottier in the South group. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Carvalho also added 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in 28 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. This year Carvalho's overall stats are: 8.5ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.1spg in 40 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Argentinian. Despite Carvalho's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the Argentinian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

#2. Gabriel Da Silva (206-C-96, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to help Quimsa in their game against Boca Juniors (20-18) in the Argentinian La Liga. Da Silva recorded only 4 points in 20 minutes. The league leader Quimsa lost 76-82 at home to the much lower-ranked (#8) Boca Juniors. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Da Silva's overall stats are: 2.4ppg and 1.9rpg in 29 games.

#3. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Melilla Baloncesto (21-13) in their last game. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Gusmao scored only 2 points. Ferro was crushed 105-77 in Almagra by the leading San Lorenzo. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Gusmao averages just 0.9ppg.
