   #1. This week's number one is an international shooting guard Vitor Benite (192-90, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He led his Spanish team Burgos to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Sassari (11-3) 84-81 in the Basketball Champions League in Wednesday night's game. Benite was MVP of the game. He recorded 30 points (!!!), 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes on the court. San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (8-6) is placed third in group B. Benite has relatively good stats this year: 14.1ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 45.8%, 3FGP: 47.3%(43-91) and FT: 90.3%(28-31) in 15 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

Marcelinho Huertas

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). Huertas was the major contributor in an CB Canarias' victory against the fourth-ranked Oostende (8-6) 85-75 in the Basketball Champions League last Tuesday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and making 10 passes. Huertas also added 6 rebounds. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (11-3) is placed second in group C. This season Huertas has relatively solid stats: 12.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 8.9apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 57.6%(53-92), 3FGP: 35.1% and FT: 87.5%. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas is in the roster of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Augusto Lima (206-91, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vitor Benite. But that was another game of his team in Spanish Liga Endesa which we would like to mention. Lima led Burgos to a victory against one of league's weakest teams Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (5-17) 89-85. He scored 14 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 25 minutes. San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (12-11) is placed tenth in the Liga Endesa. This year Lima averages: 7.7ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 59.4%(79-133) and FT: 30.3% in 23 games. He is also a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Caio Pacheco (189-99, currently plays in Argentina) could not help one of league's weakest teams Bahia Basket (11-13) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Pacheco's very good performance Bahia Basket was defeated 103-99 on the road by the higher-ranked Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos (#10). He was the top scorer with 25 points. Pacheco also added 6 assists. Pacheco has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 19.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 6.1apg. Pacheco used to play for the Brazilian U21 national team back in 2018.

   #5. Former international point guard Raul Neto (185-92, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Sacramento Kings (28-36) 125-108 in the NBA last Thursday. He scored 16 points in 21 minutes. The Philadelphia 76ers have 38-26 record this season. It's Neto's first year with the team. This year Neto's overall stats are: 4.4ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.6apg in 48 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team four years ago.

Guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona, currently plays in Australia) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Cairns Taipans (16-12) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Machado's very good performance Cairns Taipans were defeated 93-82 in Perth by the second-ranked Wildcats. He was the second best scorer with 19 points. Machado also added 5 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals. This season Machado has very high stats. He averages: 16.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 7.7apg and 1.4spg. Machado is a naturalized American. He is a former international player as he played for the Brazilian senior team two years ago. Strangely Machado has never played in Brazil.

   #7. Former international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in Uruguay) contributed to Nacional's victory against the fifth-ranked Hebraica (0-2) 102-88 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB in Tuesday night's game. He scored 6 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 31 minutes. Nacional De Futbol Montevideo (1-1) is placed fourth in Places 1-6 group. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Passos' first season with the team. Passos has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg, 12.5rpg and 1.9apg in 22 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team ten years ago.

   #8. Swingman Didi Louzada (198-99, currently plays in Australia) was not able to secure a victory for Kings (20-8) in their last game on Monday. Despite Louzada's good performance the league leader Kings were crushed 125-80 in Melbourne by the lower-ranked United (#5). He scored 10 points and had 3 steals. Louzada's stats this season are: 10.1ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.6apg. He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.

   #9. International center Joao Paulo Batista (205-81, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in France) couldn't help Le Mans (11-14) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Le Mans was badly defeated 101-85 in Villeurbanne by the higher-ranked ASVEL Lyon- Basket (#3). Batista scored 10 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Batista's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.8apg. He is also in the roster of the Brazilian national team.

   #10. Small forward Bruno Caboclo (206-95, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Houston Rockets (39-24) in their game against the Orlando Magic (29-35) in the NBA. He scored only 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The Houston Rockets (39-24) were badly defeated 126-106 in Orlando by the Magic. It was Rockets' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Caboclo's total stats this season are: 2.0ppg and 1.8rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Brazilian National Team roster.

   #11. International point guard Rafael Luz (188-92, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help UCAM Murcia in their game against Andorra in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 87-72. Luz's total stats this season are: 5.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.6apg. He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.

   #12. Former U17 international forward Kayo Goncalves (203-99, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Southeastern Oklahoma State University in their game against the Henderson State University in the NCAA2, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. Goncalves had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 40 minutes. But his team was edged 76-73 in the NCAA2. Goncalves' stats this year are: 12.1ppg and 9.0rpg in 30 games. He used to play for the Brazilian U17 national team back in 2015.

   #13. Former U18 international forward Rafael Monteiro (193-98, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Augusta University in their game against the Georgia College & State University in the NCAA2. Despite his very good performance in Wednesday night's game Monteiro recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 4 assists. This season Monteiro has very high stats. He averages: 18.3ppg, 8.6rpg and 2.6apg. Monteiro used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team four years ago.

   #14. Former U18 international forward Tulio Da Silva (201-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Indiana State University crushing them 78-51 in the NCAA last Friday. He scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 25 minutes. Da Silva averaged so far 10.1ppg and 7.2rpg in 30 games. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team back in 2014.

   #15. Former U16 international center Matheus Silveira (213-0, currently studies in the States) managed to help Austin Peay State University to win against the Eastern Illinois University 76-65 in the NCAA on Thursday night. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Silveira's total stats this season are: 1.8ppg and 1.3rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U16 national team five years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Oscar Da Silva (207-PF-98, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Stanford (8-7) in their last game. Despite Da Silva's very good performance his team lost 67-80 at home to the University of Oregon. He recorded 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 36 minutes. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Da Silva has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.1ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg in 30 games he played so far. Da Silva has a dual citizenship: German and Brazilian. Despite his Brazilian passport, Da Silva previously played for the German U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #2. Pedro Ianguas (209-C-98, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Bahia Basket (11-13) in their last game. Despite Ianguas' good performance Bahia Basket lost 99-103 on the road to the higher-ranked (#10) Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos. He scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 15 minutes. This year Ianguas' total stats are: 3.5ppg and 3.2rpg in 19 games.

   #3. Rafael Paulichi (201-PF-98, currently plays in Argentina) is a teammate of previously mentioned Pedro Ianguas and both played together in the last Argentinian La Liga game. Paulichi was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Bahia Basket (11-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance Bahia Basket lost 99-103 in Rio Gallegos to the higher-ranked (#10) Hispano Americano de. Paulichi scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. This year Paulichi's total stats are: 3.7ppg and 2.9rpg in 24 games.

   #4. Lucas Doria (203-F-97, currently plays in NCAA2) led St. Edward's University to a victory against the Tarleton State University (13-9) 60-52 in the NCAA2 on Friday night. Doria recorded 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The St. Edward's University has a very solid 19-3 record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA2. Doria is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in St. Edward's University's roster. His total stats this season are: 7.3ppg and 3.9rpg.

   #5. Ayan Carvalho (196-G/F-97, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) was the major contributor in a 2-point Dep Viedma's victory against the seventh-ranked Progreso (10-20) 86-84 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) in Friday night's game. Carvalho recorded 12 points in 22 minutes. Deportivo Viedma Rio Negro (18-15) is placed third in Conferencia Sur. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. Carvalho averaged so far 12.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.4spg in 30 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Argentinian. Despite Carvalho's Brazilian nationality, he currently plays for the Argentinian university national team and cannot be called to the Brazilian team.

   #6. Romulo Gusmao (208-C-95, currently plays in Argentina) couldn't help Argentino in their game against Boca Juniors in the Argentinian La Liga. Gusmao recorded 6 points. His team was edged 80-79. Gusmao's total stats this season are: 3.4ppg and 3.3rpg.

   #7. Experienced Rodrigo Goncalves (203-F-87, currently plays in Argentina) led Petrolero to a victory over the seventh-ranked Ciclista 75-70 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) on Wednesday night. He was the best player in that game. Goncalves recorded 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. Goncalves averaged so far 13.5ppg and 8.6rpg in 27 games.

   #8. Eduardo Lane (208-F-99, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the SJSU in their game against the University of New Mexico in the NCAA. He recorded only 4 points. His team was defeated 79-66. Lane's total stats this season are: 3.3ppg and 2.2rpg.

   #9. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Chocalates Trapa Palencia in a victory against the 11th-ranked Castello 87-82 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. He scored only 2 points, had 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 11 minutes. This year Dos Anjos' total stats are: 6.2ppg and 6.0rpg in 23 games.

   #10. Bernardo Da Silva (206-C/F-0, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the Hawaii in their game against the California State University Northridge in the NCAA. Da Silva cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points in 9 minutes on the court. His team lost 82-86. This year Da Silva's total stats are: 4.5ppg and 3.5rpg in 25 games.
