Paulista is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 2 rounds left. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.
Osasco - Pinheiros 79-81 The most surprising game was a loss of Osasco at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by Pinheiros 81-79. 24 personal fouls committed by Osasco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Guilherme Teichmann (206-83, college: Tulsa) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Humberto Silva (195-95) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Point guard Patrick Vieira (186-93) responded with 13 points and point guard Thiago Carneiro (191-91, college: Colorado NW) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sao Paulo was defeated at home 70-75 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Paulistano outrebounded Sao Paulo 45-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Forward Lucas Doria (203-97, college: St.Edward's) notched 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Victor Camilo (203-97) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Paulistano's coach Regis Marrelli allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international point guard Georginho de-Paula (195-96) did not help to save the game for Sao Paulo. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF) added 15 points for the hosts. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures.
