Corinthians - Pinheiros 86-78 Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Corinthians (#3) and Pinheiros (#7). Corinthians (1-2) won against visiting Pinheiros (1-2) 86-78. Pinheiros was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Lucas Siewert (208-97, college: Colorado) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Lucas Caue (203-98) contributed with 6 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The former international Guilherme Teichmann (206-83, college: Tulsa) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Humberto Silva (195-95) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Pinheiros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Felipe Ruivo (189-98) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Caue Borges (187-91) accounted for 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Forward Felipe Franklin (201-98) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Thiago Carneiro (191-91, college: Colorado NW) added 11 points respectively for Osasco in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hosts were rolled over by Paschoalotto/Bauru (3-0) 106-81. Paschoalotto/Bauru outrebounded Mogi 34-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Paschoalotto/Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Mogi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Guilherme Pereira (190-91) who scored 26 points. International point guard Alexey Borges (188-95) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Lucas Vezaro (188-96) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Lucas Caue (203-98) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. It was a quality performance for the former international point guard Georginho de-Paula (195-96) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) accounted for 13 points and 10 assists for the winning side. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Power forward Luiz-Paulo Dos-Santos (210-89, college: Slippery Rock) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Felipe Franklin (201-98) added 12 points respectively for Osasco in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
