Pierotti's 31-point game gives him Player of the Week award

22-year old point guard Stefano Pierotti (185-PG-98) had an amazing evening in the last round for VIPTech CMB and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 31 points adding five rebounds and eight assists for VIPTech CMB in his team's victory, helping them to edge out UniFacisa (#16, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 88-86. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory VIPTech CMB moved-up to the 9th position in Brazilian league. VIPTech CMB is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Pierotti had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be VIPTech CMB's top player in his first season with the team. Pierotti has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 20.0ppg) and assists (6th best: 6.3apg).

Second best performed player last round was Georginho de Paula (197-PG-96) of Sao Paulo. He is former international guard in his 2nd season at Sao Paulo. In the last game de Paula recorded impressive triple-double of 21 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course he led Sao Paulo to another comfortable win outscoring Corinthians (1-1) 107-61. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. de Paula is well-known at Sao Paulo and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 14.0rpg and 10.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Desmond Holloway (191-G-90, agency: Interperformances) of league's second-best Cearense. Holloway showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Holloway's great performance Cearense lost 69-82 to #1 ranked Flamengo. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Cearense needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Holloway has a great season in Brazil. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.7ppg (3rd best).
