Here is the weekly review of the top performing Brazilian players, who play currently abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international guard
Scott Machado (186-90, college:
Iona, currently plays in Australia). He could not help
Cairns Taipans (2-6) in their last game. Despite Machado's very good performance Cairns Taipans lost
79-85 on the road to the league outsider (#9) New Zealand Breakers.
He had a double-double by scoring 25 points and making 12 passes. Machado also added 6 rebounds in 36 minutes on the court.
It was Cairns Taipans' fourth consecutive loss in a row.
The Regular Season already ended.
It's Machado's first season with the team.
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Machado averages: 17.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 9.8apg, 2FGP: 40.8%, 3FGP: 37.0% and FT: 78.3% in eight games he played so far.
He is a naturalized American.
Machado played for the Brazilian senior national team three years ago.
Strangely he has never played in Brazil.
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international point guard
Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Spain). Huertas was not able to help one of league's weakest teams
CB Canarias in their game against Baskonia (17-5) in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
He scored only 4 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists.
CB Canarias was edged
81-79 in Vitoria by the higher-ranked Baskonia (#3).
They ended the series of three consecutive victories.
Huertas has relatively good stats this season: 12.5ppg, 2.2rpg, 6.3apg, 2FGP: 52.0%, 3FGP: 42.6% and FT: 88.4%.
He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian.
Huertas played for the Brazilian national team in 2019.
#3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard
Raul Neto (185-92, currently plays in NBA). Neto was not able to secure a victory for the
Washington Wizards (6-15) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance the Washington Wizards (6-15) were crushed
119-97 in Charlotte by the Hornets.
Neto scored 10 points.
This season Neto has relatively solid stats: 8.1ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 51.6%, 3FGP: 39.6% and FT: 66.7%.
He played for the Brazilian national team five years ago.
#4. Center
Augusto Lima (206-91, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
UCAM Murcia (8-13) in their game against Real Madrid (20-1) in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
Lima scored only 4 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 20 minutes.
UCAM Murcia lost

#5. International point guard
Caio Pacheco (189-99, agency:

Bahia (3-23) in their game against San Martin Corrientes (8-0) in the Argentinian La Liga. Despite his good performance on Monday night Pacheco was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 5 rebounds.

Da Silva is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Stanford's roster.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Da Silva averages: 19.4ppg, 7.2rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1bpg in 19 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: German and Brazilian.
Despite Da Silva's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the German U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.
#2. Romulo Gusmao (208-C-95, currently plays in Argentina) managed to help Ferrocarril Oeste in a victory against the 19th-ranked CA Platense (1-0)
67-62 in the Argentinian La Liga in Tuesday night's game.
He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 13 minutes.
