CBC League Round 1 of Regular Season- February 11, 2021
The Regular Season in CBC League just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Osasco - Blumenau 96-78 Osasco defeated Blumenau at home 96-78. They outrebounded Blumenau 45-27 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Blumenau was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Gustavo Scaglia (193-93, college: Arizona W. CC) stepped up and scored 28 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Renato Scholz (197-88) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side guard Gabriel De Oliveira (202-93) responded with 24 points and point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blumenau will play next round against strong Blackstar trying to get back on the winning streak. Osasco will try to continue on its current victory against Anapolis at Anapolis Goias. Naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-84) came up with 29 points (made all of his seven free throws) and center Rafael Correa (208-0) added 10 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Botafogo in the defeat. Botafogo's coach Joao Guia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anapolis will meet at home Osasco in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. They outrebounded Vila Nova/AEGB 49-34 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Blackstar players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Vila Nova/AEGB's players. Henrique Cerimelli (200-97) fired 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Jose Mauro Barrozo (201-96) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
