Jose Carlos
Power forward Jose Carlos (200-PF-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for Anapolis, receiving a Interperformances CBC League Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Blackstar (#5, 1-4) 71-70. Thanks to this victory Anapolis moved-up to the 4th position in Brazilian CBC League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Anapolis will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Carlos had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Anapolis' top player in his first season with the team. Jose Carlos has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 17.8ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages impressive 60.0% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 36-year old Italian Paulinho Boracini (183-PG-84) of league's second-best Botafogo. Boracini had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Botafogo to another comfortable win 75-59 over Vila Nova/AEGB (0-5) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Boracini is well-known at Botafogo and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.5rpg and 3.8apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Botafogo's star - forward Douglas Correa (204-F/C-91). Correa scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Botafogo, helping his team with a 75-59 easy win against Vila Nova/AEGB (#6, 0-5). Botafogo needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Gerson Victalino Conference. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Correa has a great season in Brazil. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.5ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 4.8rpg (#1 in league).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
