Guard Alef Alves (185-G-95) had a very impressive game in the last round for Anapolis, receiving a Interperformances CBC League Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Blackstar (#5, 3-7) 67-55. Anapolis maintains the 4th position in their group in Brazilian CBC League. Anapolis is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. In the team's last game Alves had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Anapolis' top player in his first season with the team. Alef Alves has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.6ppg) and averages impressive 2.6spg and 56.6% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old Luiz Paulo Dos Santos (210-F/C-89) of league's second-best Osasco. Dos Santos had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Osasco to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Anapolis (#4, 4-6) 79-56. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Gerson Victalino Conference. Osasco consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 8 matches. Dos Santos is a newcomer at Osasco and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third on the list of top players last round was forward Jose Mauro Barrozo (201-PF-96) of Blackstar (#5). Barrozo scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Barrozo's great performance Blackstar lost 55-67 to slightly higher-ranked Anapolis (#4, 4-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Blackstar not to end season at such low position in Gerson Victalino Conference, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Barrozo could try to bring Blackstar's a little bit higher in the standings. Barrozo has individually a great season in Brazil. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 11.6ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 9.6rpg (2nd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
