Brazilian NBB round 27 best performance: Gabriel Campos

Point guard Gabriel Campos (179-PG-01) put on an amazing game in the last round for Pinheiros, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 19-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, two rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Campo Mourao (#15, 6-24) 84-75. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Pinheiros maintains the 13th position in Brazilian NBB. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 22 games and recorded just eight victories. In the team's last game Campos had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Gabriel Campos averages this season 11.8ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Dontrell Brite (175-PG-94) of Cearense. Brite had a very good evening with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Cearense lost that game 92-97 to the higher-ranked Paulistano (#4, 22-8). Cearense managed to keep the same 10th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-16 record. Brite is well-known at Cearense and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Rafael Castellon (191-G-85) of Campo Mourao (#15). Castellon got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds . Despite Castellon's great performance Campo Mourao lost 75-84 to slightly higher-ranked Pinheiros (#13, 8-22). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Castellon has a very solid season. In 29 games in Brazil he scored 6.7ppg.
