CBC League Round 6: Joinville is upset by Brusque

The most important game in the last round took place in Brusque between third ranked Joinville (2-2) and fifth ranked Brusque (2-2) on Thursday night. Joinville was crushed by Brusque on the road 89-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Joinville. Brusque forced 19 Joinville turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Durval Prado (200-92) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Matheus Vicente (191-99) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Patrick Vieira (186-93) who recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Enzo Cafferata contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Erike Lima (202-99) replied with 9 points and 9 rebounds for Maringa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Corinthians maintains second position with 3-1 record having eleven points less than leader Ponta Grossa. Maringa at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Corinthians will play against Brusque (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maringa will play against Londrina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
