Wilson Carneiro
26-year old point guard Wilson Carneiro (175-PG-94) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Ponta Grossa and receives a Hoops Agents CBC League Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had the game-high 25 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Ponta Grossa in his team's victory, helping them to beat Brusque (#5, 3-5) 79-71. Ponta Grossa maintains the 2nd position in their group in Brazilian CBC League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Ponta Grossa will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Carneiro has many years of experience at Ponta Grossa, through which he has constantly improved. Carneiro has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 15.6ppg) and assists (9th best: 3.9apg).
Second best performed player last round was Diego Silva (206-C/F-90) of Joinville. He is a in his second season at Joinville. In the last game Silva recorded impressive 15 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Joinville cruised to a 66-56 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Maringa (#6, 1-7). Joinville's 3rd position in Helio Rubens Garcia Conference has not changed. His team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Silva is well-known at Joinville and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 6.4ppg (#5). He also registered 7.0 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Jackson Da Silva (192-G-96) of Londrina (#4). Da Silva scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Londrina, leading his team to a 86-83 win against #1 ranked Corinthians in a game of the week. The chances of Londrina not to end season at such low position in Helio Rubens Garcia Conference, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Da Silva could try to bring Londrina's a little bit higher in the standings. Da Silva has a very solid season. In 8 games in Brazil he scored 12.9ppg.
