LDB U20 Round 7: Campo Mourao win their first game

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Campo Mourao can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Pato (0-5) 66-54 on Wednesday. Campo Mourao forced 26 Pato turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. Guard Raffael Mencarini (187-1) fired 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Pedro Passoni (195-99) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Gabriel Furlan (-4) produced 16 points and 5 assists for lost side. Pato's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Campo Mourao (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. It was Pato's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Corinthians have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. The game in Coritiba was also quite interesting. Leader Sao Jose (5-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Coritiba (1-5). Sao Jose defeated Coritiba 77-64 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for Felipe Gregate who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Sao Jose's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Herbert Carnauba responded with 24 points. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sao Jose. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Coritiba dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 7 Sao Paulo defeated Caxias do Sul in a road game 78-62. U. Corinthians lost to undefeated Paulistano at home 39-83.

U. Corinthians - Paulistano 39-83

No shocking result in a game in Sao Paulo where leader Paulistano (5-0) smashed 9th ranked Uniao Corinthians (1-5) 83-39 on Wednesday. Paulistano dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Uniao Corinthians' 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Uniao Corinthians' players.
