Praia Clube (Lower league) inked 23-year old 201cm power forward Joao Mamedes. Mamedes played last summer at Blackstar in Brazilian CBC League. In 11 games he averaged 5.8ppg and 3.8rpg. Lower league will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. He also spent pre-season at Londrina Esporte Clube (Liga Ouro).
Mamedes has played previously for four other teams: Pinheiros, Macae, Pinheiros and Sao Paulo.
Among many awards his team made it to the Paulista League Semifinals for two years in a row (2018 and 2019). He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Liga Ouro Honorable Mention back in 2018.
