Vila Nova FC / AEGB (CBC League) added to their roster experienced 35-year old Brazilian center Andre Coimbra (205cm-101kg-86, college: CMU) for season 2022. Coimbra played last summer at Leones de Managua in Nicaraguan LSB league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 17 LSB games he recorded 13.1ppg, 9.2rpg and 2.8apg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week (2 times). Coimbra also played for Salta Basket in Argentinian La Liga Argentina where in 30 games he averaged 9.9ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.3apg.
Thanks to Coimbra's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Japan (Osaka Evessa and Ehime Orange Vikings), Brazil (Vivo/Franca, Botafogo, Pinheiros, Automovel C.F. - Campos Dos Goytacazes and Brasilia) and Argentina (Ferro).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the Brazilian National League Semifinals for two years in a row (2016 and 2017).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Vila Nova FC / AEGB.
Coimbra attended Central Michigan University until 2012 and it will be his eleventh season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Fierce competitor. Outstanding shooting range for a PF. Continues to improve on defense and rebounding.
