Vezarinho's 28 points and 6 rebounds give him Hoops Agents CBC League Player of the Week award

25-year old guard Lucas Vezarinho (187-G-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Araraquara and receives a Hoops Agents CBC League Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 28 points adding six rebounds for Araraquara in his team's victory, helping them to beat Blumenau (#5, 1-2) 79-70. Araraquara maintains the 2nd position in their group in Brazilian CBC League. The season is still on an early stage, but Araraquara already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Vezarinho had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Araraquara, through which he has constantly improved. Vezarinho has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.3ppg) and averages solid 51.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mateus Diniz (193-G-2001) of Maringa. He is a guard in his first season at Maringa. In the last game Diniz recorded impressive 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Maringa was edged by Tatui/AABT (4-0) 69-66. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Diniz is one of the most experienced players at Maringa and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 12.5ppg (#8).

Third place about best performers goes to another Maringa's star - guard Gustavo Paulino (184-G-1999). Paulino showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Paulino's great performance Maringa lost 66-69 to Tatui/AABT (#1, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Maringa can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group B. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Paulino has individually a great season in Brazil. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.8apg (2nd best).
