Pecos' double-double lands him CBC League Player of the Week award

27-year old point guard Arthur Pecos (183-PG-1994) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Sao Jose and receives a Hoops Agents CBC League Player of the Week award for round 4.
He got a double-double of 16 points and 11 assists, while his team outclassed Vila Nova/AEGB (#3, 3-3) with 39-point margin 91-52. Sao Jose maintains the 2nd position in their group in Brazilian CBC League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Sao Jose will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Pecos has many years of experience at Sao Jose, through which he has constantly improved. Pecos has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.2rpg) and assists (3rd best: 5.2apg).

Second best performed player last round was Leandro Abreu (195-F-2004) of Basquete Santos. He is a forward in his first season at Basquete Santos. In the last game Abreu recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Basquete Santos to another comfortable win 94-80 over the higher-ranked Sao Jose (#2, 4-2) being unquestionably team leader. Basquete Santos' 5th position in Group A has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Abreu is one of the most experienced players at Basquete Santos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Diego Gomes (183-PG-1991) of Mesquita/LSB (#6). Gomes scored 29 points. He was a key player of Mesquita/LSB, leading his team to a 90-81 win against the higher-ranked Vila Nova/AEGB (#3, 3-3). The chances of Mesquita/LSB not to end season at such low position in Group A, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gomes could try to bring Mesquita/LSB's a little bit higher in the standings. Gomes has a very solid season. In 6 games in Brazil he scored 12.2ppg.
