Jose Carlos
Power forward Jose Carlos (200-PF-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Blumenau, receiving a Hoops Agents CBC League Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (17 points, seven rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat LSB / B2B (#5, 4-7) 68-53. Blumenau is placed at 2nd position in Brazilian CBC League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Blumenau will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Carlos had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Blumenau, through which he has constantly improved. Jose Carlos averages this season 6.8ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was young international power forward William Drudi (206-F/C-1981) of Tatui/AABT. Drudi had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Tatui/AABT cruised to a 65-53 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Maringa (#6, 2-7). Despite this victory Tatui/AABT slide down in the standings to 3rd position in Group B. His team's 6-3 record is not bad at all. Drudi is one of the most experienced players at Tatui/AABT and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was guard Aieser Batista (198-G-2000) of Coritiba (#7). Batista scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Batista's great performance Coritiba lost 71-72 to slightly higher-ranked Maringa (#6, 2-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Coritiba can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group B. They have rather bad season and 1-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Batista has a very solid season. In 9 games in Brazil he scored 10.7ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
