Basquete Santos - Praia 78-76 Third defeat of league's leader Praia (6-3) against fifth ranked Basquete Santos (5-4) 78-76 was the most important game of the last round. Basquete Santos outrebounded Praia 58-44 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Leandro Abreu (195-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 25 rebounds. Point guard Jefferson Campos (188-1991) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Patrick Vieira (186-1993) answered with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Joao Mamedes (201-1998) added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Praia. Four Praia players scored in double figures. Basquete Santos moved-up to third place, which they share with Osasco. Praia at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Blumenau. Praia will play next round against Botafogo trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Basquete Santos will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked LSB / B2B in Sorocabana. It was an exceptional evening for guard Felipe Augusto (185-1996) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Luis Otavio Vieira (196-1992) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Igor Avelino (196-1993) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alexei Patricio (192-1997) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively for Osasco in the defeat. Osasco's coach Joao Lourenco rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Vila Nova/AEGB went down to fifth position due to points difference. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sao Jose have a solid series of three victories in a row.
