Marcelinho Huertas
Marcelinho Huertas
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-1983, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He led his Spanish team Tenerife to a victory over the leader Hapoel Holon (4-2) 78-71 in the Basketball Champions League in Friday night's game. Huertas was MVP of the game. He recorded 17 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists in 29 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams. Lenovo Tenerife (5-0) is placed first in group L. So far his team won all one games in the Semi-Finals. Huertas has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 1.6rpg, 7.3apg, 2FGP: 57.1%(68-119) and FT: 77.8% in 19 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas played for the Brazilian senior national team year ago.

Tim Soares
Tim Soares
#2. Second place goes to former international center Tim Soares (211-1997, college: Master's, currently plays in Israel). Soares contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Galil Gilboa (13-14) crushing them 93-73 in the Israeli Winner League on Sunday night. He scored 13 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, passed 5 assists and added 3 blocks in 29 minutes. Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona (12-15) is placed fourth in Places 7-12 group. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. The Second Stage already ended. This year Soares has relatively solid stats: 14.1ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.5apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 62.1%(113-182), 3FGP: 53.8%(28-52) and FT: 83.3% in 27 games. He is a naturalized American. Soares played for the Brazilian national team in 21. Strangely he has never played in Brazil.

Leonardo Meindl
Leonardo Meindl
#3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international small forward Leonardo Meindl (201-1993, currently plays in Spain). Meindl could not help Fuenlabrada (2-1) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Fuenlabrada was defeated 92-84 on the road by the league outsider Andorra (#18). Meindl was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Meindl has reliable stats this season: 13.1ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 49.7%, 3FGP: 37.2% and FT: 78.2%. He played for the Brazilian national team year ago.

Augusto Lima
Augusto Lima
#4. Center Augusto Lima (210-1991, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Murcia in their game against Joventut (19-11) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Lima scored only 4 points, had 11 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 31 minutes. Murcia lost 71-83 at home to the lower-ranked (#5) Joventut. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Lima's overall stats are: 8.6ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.6apg in 31 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 22.

Vitor Benite
Vitor Benite
#5. Former international shooting guard Vitor Benite (194-1990, also represented by Octagon Europe, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 12th-ranked Unicaja (12-18) 89-74 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. Benite scored 7 points. Hereda San Pablo Burgos (16-10) is placed fourth in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Benite's stats this season are: 12.4ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

#1. Oscar Da Silva (206-PF-1998, agency: BeoBasket, college: Stanford, currently plays in Germany) led ALBA Berlin to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked 46ers crushing them 109-80 in the German BBL last Wednesday. He scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Da Silva's first season in pro basketball. ALBA Berlinis placed first in the BBL. This season Da Silva has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2bpg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and German. Despite Da Silva's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the German U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

#2. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-1998, currently plays in Spain). Dos Anjos could not help Estudiantes (25-8) to beat Palencia (20-12). He scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes. But Estudiantes was edged 73-71 at home by the lower-ranked (#4) Palencia. It was Estudiantes' first loss after three consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Dos Anjos' total stats are: 6.0ppg and 3.3rpg in 30 games he played so far.

#3. Pedro Ianguas (210-C-1998, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to help San Martin in their game against Gimnasia (5-2) in the Argentinian La Liga. He recorded 6 points in only 7 minutes. Science City Jena was badly defeated 84-65 in Rostock by the second-ranked Seawolves. This year Rodrigues' total stats are: 2.1ppg and 1.5rpg in 31 games.

#5. Jordan Arroyo (201-F, college: N.Mexico, currently plays in Puerto Rico) couldn't help Brujos (3-7) in their game against Capitanes (7-5) in the Puerto Rican BSN. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Arroyo recorded only 2 points. The sixth-placed Brujos (3-7) was crushed 106-67 in Arecibo by the higher-ranked Capitanes (#3) in the Group A. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Arroyo averages just 1.4ppg.

This year De Oliveira's total stats are: 5.7ppg and 2.9rpg in 32 games. He has both Brazilian and German nationalities.
