Ruan Miranda claims Brazilian LDB U20 Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Ruan Miranda (205-C/F-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Cerrado and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 21-year old had a double-double of 34 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed Uniao Corinthians (#10, 1-4) with 47-point margin 119-72. It allowed Cerrado to consolidate first place in the Brazilian LDB U20. Cerrado have a solid 4-1 record. Miranda has many years of experience at Cerrado, through which he has constantly improved. Miranda has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 19.8ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 71.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Matheusinho Brito (184-PG-2000) of second-ranked Vasco da Gama. Brito impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Vasco da Gama to edge Caxias do Sul (3-2) by 4 points 79-75. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Brito is one of the most experienced players at Vasco da Gama and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 7.4rpg and 3.6apg.

The third best performed player last round was Gabriel Soldi (202-SF-2000) of Coritiba (#6). Soldi scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Soldi's great performance Coritiba lost 63-65 to Uniao Corinthians (#10, 1-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Coritiba ranking at the top of Group B, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Soldi could help Coritiba to bring them higher in the standings. Soldi has a great season in Brazil. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.4ppg (5th best).
