Basquete Joinville/AABJ (Catarina) inked 33-year old 197cm forward Renato Scholz for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Joinville as he has played here before. Scholz played this summer at Brusque Basquete/ADB in the CBB. In 10 games just recently he averaged 7.0ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1spg. Catarina will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
He has spent his entire career in Brazil playing for eight other teams: Paschoalotto/Bauru, Sao Caetano, Osasco, Liga Sorocabana de Basquete, AABI/CLINESP/Artur Nogueira, Jacarei, Universo/Vitoria and Blackstar. Scholz was also voted to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League Honorable Mention back in 2011 and 2012.
His team made it to the CBC League Semifinals in 2021.
