Brazilian Paulista round 12 best performance: Emmitt Holt (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Emmitt Holt (201-F-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Bauru, receiving a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, seven rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Sao Paulo (#6, 7-5) 76-63. Bauru maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian Paulista. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bauru will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Holt as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Emmitt Holt averages this season 8.4ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Desmond Holloway (194-SF-1990, agency: Interperformances) of Rio Claro. Holloway had a very good evening with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Rio Claro to another comfortable win 97-82 over slightly lower-ranked Sao Jose (#7, 7-6) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Rio Claro to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Holloway is a newcomer at Rio Claro, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#8). He also registered 5.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Abner Moreira (206-F/C-1989) of Araraquara (#9). Moreira scored 12 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Araraquara, leading his team to a 76-55 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Osasco (#10, 2-11). Araraquara can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-9 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Moreira has individually a great season in Brazil. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.0rpg (4th best).
