The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Paulistano (11-3) on the court of third ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Paschoalotto/Bauru 96-80. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The former international guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-1994) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Jonatan Machuca (186-1989) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. point guard Adyel Borges (188-2002) replied with 23 points and 4 assists for Paulistano. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paschoalotto/Bauru (10-4) moved-up to second place, which they share with Sesi Franca. Paulistano at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#3) and Pinheiros (#3). Vivo/Franca (10-4) smashed visiting Pinheiros (9-5) by 19 points 85-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pinheiros. It was a key game for the second position in the league. International center Lucas Silva (208-1995) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Georginho de Paula chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Vivo/Franca's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Rafael Munford (195-1998, college: Augusta) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Vivo/Franca have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bauru. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#3) and Sao Paulo (#8). Vivo/Franca (10-4) smashed visiting Sao Paulo (7-7) by 21 points 86-65. Lucas Silva notched 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort. Vivo/Franca's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 19 points by Betinho Duarte did not help to save the game for Sao Paulo. Vivo/Franca have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bauru. Sao Paulo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 14: bottom-ranked LSB / B2B was beaten by Araraquara on the road 82-75. Corinthians won against Sao Jose on its own court 89-80. Osasco unfortunately lost to LSB / B2B in Sorocabana 57-72. Rio Claro rolled over Araraquara at home 77-58.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 14 points and 17 rebounds by Abner Moreira of Araraquara.



Araraquara - LSB / B2B 82-75

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Araraquara (4-11) beat at home 11th ranked LSB / B2B (2-13) 82-75 on Sunday. Forward Lucas Santos (190-1998) notched 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international point guard Welington Santos (185-1981) supported him with 15 points. Even 21 points and 5 assists by point guard Guilherme Santos (189-1997) did not help to save the game for LSB / B2B. Guard Aquiles Ferreira (194-1998) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. LSB / B2B's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Araraquara maintains ninth position with 4-11 record. LSB / B2B lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Osasco.

Point guard Gabriel Campos (182-2001) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and guard Isaac Goncalves (196-1990) supported him with 17 points. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Even 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by power forward Renato Carbonari (202-1987) did not help to save the game for Sao Jose.
