Silva's 27 points and 6 rebounds give him Paulista Player of the Week award- September 23, 2022
He had the game-high 27 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Sesi Franca in his team's victory, helping them to crush Sao Paulo (#8, 7-7) with 21-point margin 86-65. Sesi Franca is placed at 2nd position in Brazilian Paulista. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sesi Franca will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. In the team's last game Silva had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Sesi Franca, through which he has constantly improved. Silva has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.4ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.4rpg) and averages solid 80.9% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Gabriel Campos (182-PG-2001) of Corinthians. He is a guard in his first season at Corinthians. In the last game Campos recorded impressive double-double of 13 points and 11 assists. Of course Corinthians cruised to a 89-80 relatively comfortable win over Sao Jose (8-7). This victory allowed Corinthians to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Campos is a newcomer at Corinthians and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Abner Moreira (206-F/C-1989) of Araraquara (#9). Moreira scored 14 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Moreira's great performance Araraquara lost 58-77 to the higher-ranked Rio Claro (#5, 9-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Araraquara can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Moreira has individually a great season in Brazil. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.7rpg (5th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Wesley Alves (198-SF-1996) of Rio Claro - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Danilo Fuzaro (193-G-1994) of Bauru - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists 6.
