Abreu's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

20-year old guard Leonardo Abreu (184-G-2002) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Sao Jose and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
He got a double-double of 11 points and 12 assists, while his team outclassed Sao Paulo (#3, 9-5) with 34-point margin 93-59. Sao Jose maintains the 2nd position in their group in Brazilian league. They are still close to the very top. Sao Jose would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-2 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Abreu as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Abreu has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 7.8apg) and averages solid 3.3spg and 57.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Guilherme Estevao (204-F-2000) of Praia. He is a forward in his first season at Praia. In the last game Estevao recorded impressive 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Praia lost that game 82-97 to the higher-ranked Pinheiros (#1, 12-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Praia still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 8-6 record is not bad at all. Estevao is a newcomer at Praia and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Sao Jose's star - center Sergio Conceicao (208-C-2000). Conceicao showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was another key player of Sao Jose, helping his team with a 93-59 easy win against #3 ranked Sao Paulo. Sao Jose is closer and closer to top of the standings in Group A. They will still need more victories. But 12-2 record is not that bad... Conceicao has a very solid season. In 10 games in Brazil he scored 14.6ppg. He also has 9.6rpg and FGP: 56.9%.
