Guilherme Santos claims Brazilian CBB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Guilherme Santos (189-PG-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for Araraquara and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 25-year old playmaker had the game-high 23 points adding seven rebounds and seven assists for Araraquara in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Vitoria (#5, 0-2) with 33-point margin 109-76. Thanks to this victory Araraquara moved-up to the 4th position in Brazilian CBB. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 3 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Santos had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Araraquara, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Santos has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (4th best: 4.0apg) and averages solid 2.3spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Matheus Leoni (187-PG-2003) of league's best team Cruzeiro. Leoni impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he led Cruzeiro to another comfortable win 83-66 over Praia (1-1) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Leoni is one of the most experienced players at Cruzeiro and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 7.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was Edu de Oliveira (195-SF-1983) of Vitoria (#5). de Oliveira scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite de Oliveira's great performance Vitoria lost 76-109 to Araraquara (#4, 1-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Vitoria can only dream about fighting for top spots in Conferencia Chui. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. de Oliveira has individually a great season in Brazil. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (2nd best).
