Guard Raffael Mencarini (187-G-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Praia, receiving a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, three rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Santos (3-1) 66-58. Praia maintains the 3rd position in their group in Brazilian CBB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Praia will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Mencarini just recently signed at Praia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Raffael Mencarini has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 16.0ppg) and averages impressive 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Leonardo Cravero (200-SF-2002) of league's second-best Blumenau. Cravero had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Blumenau to another comfortable win outscoring Vitoria (0-4) 82-62. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Cravero is one of the most experienced players at Blumenau and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Blumenau's star - Rafael Moreira (200-SF-1991). Moreira scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Blumenau, helping his team with a 82-62 easy win against Vitoria (#5, 0-4). Blumenau needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Conferencia Chui. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Moreira has a very solid season. In 4 games in Brazil he scored 7.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dida Pereira (202-C/F-1992) of Santos - 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Lucas Farina (186-PG-1995) of Blumenau - 13 points, 2 rebounds and 13 assists
6. Edu de Oliveira (195-SF-1983) of Vitoria - 10 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
