Brazilian LDB U20 round 3 best performance: Adyel Borges- June 19, 2023
The 20-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Mogi (#10, 3-2) with 30-point margin 96-66. Pinheiros was forced-out from the top positions in Brazilian LDB U20. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Pinheiros already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Borges had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Pinheiros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Adyel Borges has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.8ppg) and averages impressive 2.4spg and 54.3% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was young Gabriel Novaes (208-C-2001) of Pato. Novaes had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Pato cruised to a 78-68 relatively comfortable win over Joinville (0-5). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Novaes is one of the most experienced players at Pato and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third on the list of top players last round was Hugo Ramos (2003) of Bauru (#16). Ramos showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Ramos' great performance Bauru lost 54-54 to Flamengo (1-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Bauru can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ramos has a very solid season. In 5 games in Brazil he scored 13.4ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Carlos Farias (198-SF-2002) of Coritiba - 19 points and 11 rebounds 5. Matheus Leoni (187-PG-2003) of Flamengo - 22 points and 2 assists 6. Jonathan Candido (2003) of Pato - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
