Rodrigues' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

21-year old center Yago Rodrigues (208-C-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Praia and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 25 rebounds, while his team crushed Cearense (#18, 1-4) with 18-point margin 93-75. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Praia is placed at 9th position in Brazilian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Praia will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Rodrigues just recently signed at Praia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Rodrigues has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 11.4rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 58.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Gustavo Silva (187-G-2002) of Brasilia. He is a guard in his second season at Brasilia. In the last game Silva recorded impressive 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course Brasilia cruised to a 87-77 relatively comfortable win over Cerrado (#22, 0-5). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Brasilia managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 14th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Silva is one of the most experienced players at Brasilia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 10.2ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 6.4rpg and 4.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Praia's star - guard Raffael Mencarini (187-G-2001). Mencarini got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for five assists. He was another key player of Praia, helping his team with a 93-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Cearense (#18, 1-4). Praia needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Mencarini has a great season in Brazil. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.6ppg (best scorer).
