Silva's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

21-year old power forward Jonathan Silva (205-F/C-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for Corinthians and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
He had a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Caxias do Sul (8-2) 78-74. Corinthians maintains the 7th position in Brazilian league. They are still close to the very top. Corinthians would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-2 record. Silva has many years of experience at Corinthians, through which he has constantly improved. Silva has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 12.4rpg), assists (8th best: 2.1apg) and averages solid 2.8spg and 54.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Samuel Amorim (204-C/F-2001) of Cearense. He is a in his first season at Cearense. In the last game Amorim recorded impressive double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Cearense lost that game 67-87 to the higher-ranked Flamengo (#15, 3-6). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Cearense keeps 22th position. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Cearense managed to get this year. Amorim is one of the most experienced players at Cearense and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Gustavo Silva (187-G-2002) of Brasilia (#19). Silva scored 21 points and passed six assists. Despite Silva's great performance Brasilia lost 78-82 to slightly higher-ranked Botafogo (#17, 3-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Brasilia can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Silva has individually a great season in Brazil. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 4.9rpg (4th best) and assists with 4.4apg (8th best).
