LDB U20 Round 13: No surprise as #1 Paulistano defeat Coritiba

LDB U20 top team - Paulistano (11-0) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Coritiba (3-7) in Sao Paulo 72-58. Paulistano forced 20 Coritiba turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Henrique Seixas (194-2003) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Leonardo Abreu (184-2002) chipped in 8 points and 11 assists. At the losing side power forward Honorato Bonizioli (206-2001) responded with 16 points. Coritiba's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Paulistano have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record, which they share with Pinheiros. Coritiba at the other side dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Vila Velha. Paulistano is looking forward to face Caxias do Sul (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Coritiba will play against Vasco da Gama (#13) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Bottom-ranked Cerrado (0-11) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to seventeenth ranked Botafogo (3-8) 99-45. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Pinheiros. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Paulistano. Cearense lost their ninth game in a row. They dropped to the twenty first place with ten games lost.
