Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (NBB) inked 20-year old 187cm point guard Matheus Leoni for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Flamengo as he has played here before. Leoni played this summer at Flamengo in Brazilian LDB U20. He managed to play in four leagues last year (!!!). In 11 LDB U20 games just recently he recorded 14.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.0apg and 1.5spg. Leoni helped them to make it to the Brazilian Super 8 final. Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian CBB League Second Team. He also played for Cruzeiro (CBB) where in 14 games he averaged 11.9ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.6apg and 1.7spg. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian CBB League Second Team.
Leoni was a member of Brazilian U16 National Team in 2019.
He has played previously professionally also in Spain (Canarias).
His team won InterContinental Cup in 2022.
