Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between third ranked Minas (11-3) and eleventh ranked Corinthians (6-7) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Minas was defeated by Corinthians in a tough game in Sao Paulo 96-105. Corinthians made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American guard Elyjah Clark (190-1998, college: MSSU) who led his team to a victory with 31 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Elinho Corazza (191-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) contributed with 12 points and 13 assists for the winners. Argentinian point guard Franco Baralle (185-1999) answered with 22 points and 5 assists for Minas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Corinthians moved-up to tenth place. Minas at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Corinthians are looking forward to face U.Corinthians (#12) in Santa Cruz do Sul in the next round. Minas will play at home against Pato (#15) and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Sao Paulo was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Vasco da Gama (10-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Paulistano (10-5). Vasco da Gama managed to secure a 6-point victory 76-70. Guard Matheus Eugeniusz (193-2000) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and Caue Freitas chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Victor Camilo (203-1997) with 14 points and 4 assists. Paulistano's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Vasco da Gama maintains fourth place with 10-5 record, which they share with defeated Paulistano. Vasco da Gama will play against Cearense (#7) in Fortaleza in the next round. Paulistano will play on the road against Cerrado in Brasilia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Vasco da Gama (10-5) and Pinheiros (5-8), which took place in Sao Paulo. 4th placed Vasco da Gama lost to twelfth ranked Pinheiros in a road game 67-73 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vasco da Gama. Adyel Borges nailed 19 points and 6 steals for the winning side. Rafael Paulichi came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Vasco da Gama in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinheiros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain twelfth place with 5-8 record, which they share with U.Corinthians and Caxias do Sul. Newly promoted Vasco da Gama keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Pinheiros will meet U.Corinthians (#12) in the next round. Vasco da Gama will play against Cearense (#7) and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 9: Cerrado was beaten by Bauru on the road 90-81. Sao Jose won against Mogi on its own court 84-73. Paulistano outscored Brasilia in Sao Paulo 91-69. Corinthians managed to beat Pato at home 85-81. Minas crushed Pinheiros on the opponent's court 91-61.
The most impressive performance of 9th round was 20 points and 7 rebounds by Renan Lenz of Minas.




Bauru - Cerrado 90-81

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (8-7) beat at home 16th ranked Cerrado (4-10) 90-81 on Monday. Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international guard Alex Garcia (190-1980, agency: Interperformances) nailed 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Anderson Rodrigues (207-1997) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds. Paschoalotto/Bauru's coach Everton Moraes used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international point guard David Rossetto (184-1992) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Guilherme Santos (189-1997) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Cerrado in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bauru maintains ninth place with 8-7 record. Loser Cerrado keeps the sixteenth position with ten games lost. Bauru will meet higher ranked Sao Jose (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cerrado will play against Sao Paulo (#11) and hope to secure a win.
