Ponta Grossa Basquete (Parana) has added 21-year-old 185cm guard Joao De Paula to their roster. De Paula is not new to the Brazilian League, having most recently played for Praia-Clube57104">Praia-ClubeAEDEC-U20-team49324">Praia in the Brazilian LDB U20. In 15 games last season, he averaged 2.3ppg, 2.1rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.1spg. With Parana, De Paula will have the opportunity for more playing time and help the team improve. He also previously played for another Brazilian team, CBB. Additionally, De Paula had a brief stint with another Brazilian team, Praia.
He has also played professionally for other Brazilian teams such as Paulistano and Corinthians.
