Brazilian CBB round 3 best performance: Dida Pereira

Dida Pereira (202-C/F-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Basquete Santos/Memorial/FUBES, receiving a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Brusque (#3, 1-2) 83-81. It allowed Santos to take over top position in the Brazilian CBB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Santos has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Pereira turned to be Santos' top player in his first season with the team. Former College of the Sequoias star has very solid stats this year. Pereira is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 7.3rpg) and averages impressive 62.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Andre Mendes (192-SG-1993) of Brusque Basquete/ADB. Mendes had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Brusque was edged by Santos (3-1) 83-81. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Mendes is a newcomer at Brusque, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#8). He also registered 8.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward William Drudi (206-F/C-1981) of Basquete Tatui/AABT (#3). Drudi scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Drudi's great performance the Tatui/AABT lost 69-70 to #2 ranked Cruzeiro. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Tatui/AABT needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the Conferencia Josuel. Their record is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Drudi has a great season in Brazil. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.5rpg (4th best).
