NBB top team - Flamengo (29-5) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked UNIFACISA (20-13) in Rio de Janeiro 90-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UNIFACISA. Flamengo outrebounded UniFacisa 39-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international guard Didi Louzada (195-1999) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Gabriel Galvanini (202-1998) helped adding 10 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Argentinian-Italian point guard Facundo Corvalan (190-1998) with 19 points and 5 assists. Flamengo have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 29-5 record, which they share with Sesi Franca. UniFacisa at the other side keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Sao Paulo will meet at home Cerrado (#16) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vasco da Gama will play against Cearense (#9) in Fortaleza and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 27: Corinthians lost to Minas on the opponent's court 73-91. Pato managed to outperform Pinheiros in a home game 83-79. Bottom-ranked Brasilia was rolled over Paulistano on the road 95-50. Sesi Franca defeated Sao Jose on its own court 97-87. Cerrado was beaten by Paulistano in Sao Paulo 82-71. Sao Paulo won against Brasilia at home 93-84.



Minas - Corinthians 91-73

Very expected game in Belo Horizonte where 10th ranked Corinthians (18-15) was defeated by third ranked Minas (25-8) 91-73 on Saturday. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) who scored 22 points and 6 assists. Argentinian point guard Franco Baralle (185-1999) chipped in 11 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Minas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Elio Corazza (191-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) who recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international center Rafael Hettsheimeir (210-1986) added 13 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Minas. They maintain third place with 25-8 record having five points less than leader Flamengo. Loser Corinthians dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Cearense.
