Harris' double-double lands him CBB Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old American guard Anthony Harris (196-G-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Liga Sorocabana de Basquete and receives a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Osasco (#1, 4-1) 71-68. Sorocabana is placed at 4th position in Brazilian CBB. Sorocabana is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. Harris just recently signed at Sorocabana, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Chicago State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Harris is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.8ppg. Harris is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.2rpg) and averages solid 52.5% FGP and 41.2% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Joao Demetrio (208-F/C-1995) of top-ranked Praia Clube. He is a forward in his first season at Praia. In the last game Demetrio recorded an impressive 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Praia lost that game 67-74 to slightly lower-ranked Tatui/AABT (#3, 2-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Conferencia Josuel. Praia still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. His team has currently 3-1 record. Demetrio is a newcomer at Praia and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to another Sorocabana's star - guard Beto Fagundes (188-PG-2000). Fagundes scored 12 points and passed 6 assists. He was another key player of Liga Sorocabana de Basquete, helping his team with a 71-68 win against #1 ranked Osasco. The chances of Sorocabana ranking at the top of Conferencia Macarrao, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Fagundes could help Sorocabana to bring them higher in the standings. Fagundes has a great season in Brazil. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.2rpg (7th best).
