CBB Round 6 (Regular Season): Cruzeiro defeat Vitoria in the closest game of the week

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in CBB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 6 in the CBB took place in Salvador. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked Vitoria (0-5) to second ranked Cruzeiro (4-1) 83-81 on Thursday evening. Cruzeiro forced 23 Vitoria turnovers. Pedro Lima (191-1987) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and Jose Carlos (200-1997) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Luiz Muller (190-1993) with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Vitoria's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cruzeiro have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Osasco and Praia. Vitoria at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Cruzeiro is looking forward to face league's leader Praia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vitoria will play against Tatui/AABT and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Vitoria at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Praia will play against league's second-placed Cruzeiro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vitoria will play against Tatui/AABT and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

The best player for the winners was Dida Pereira who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Anthony Harris who recorded 27 points and 6 rebounds. Sorocabana's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Santos maintains second position with 4-2 record having just one point less than leader Praia. Loser Sorocabana keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Santos will meet at home Blumenau (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sorocabana will play against Brusque and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 6 Brusque lost to Blumenau on the opponent's court 74-80.




Blumenau - Brusque 80-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Brusque's (1-4) road loss to fourth ranked Blumenau (2-2) 74-80 on Sunday. Blumenau dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Brusque's 26. The best player for the winners was point guard Vinicius Gobor (185-1990) who scored 14 points and 5 assists. Paraguayan point guard Fabrizzio Rojas (187-2002) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Blumenau's coach Andre Germano used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Andre Mendes (192-1993) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and forward Jose Carlos Junior (202-1998) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Brusque players scored in double figures. Blumenau moved-up to third place. Brusque lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. Blumenau will meet league's second-placed Santos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brusque will play against Sorocabana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
