Mendes' 18 points and 6 rebounds give him Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award

30-year old shooting guard Andre Mendes (192-SG-1993) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Brusque Basquete/ADB and receives a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 18 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Brusque in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Osasco (#2, 5-3) 73-71. Brusque maintains the 5th position in their group in the Brazilian CBB. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 6 games and recorded just two victories. Mendes turned to be Brusque's top player in his first season with the team. Mendes has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.6ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.0rpg) and assists (7th best: 3.1apg).

Second best performed player last round was Jamir Moultrie (185-G) of league's second-best Basket Osasco. He is American guard in his first season at Osasco. In the last game Moultrie recorded an impressive 23 points and 3 rebounds. Bad luck as Osasco was edged by slightly lower-ranked Blumenau (#3, 4-4) 70-66. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Conferencia Macarrao. Osasco still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Moultrie is one of the most experienced players at Osasco and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#2).

Third place about best performers goes to guard Anthony Harris (196-G-1997) of Liga Sorocabana de Basquete (#4). Harris scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Despite Harris' great performance the Sorocabana lost 56-60 to #3 ranked Blumenau. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Sorocabana not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Macarrao, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Harris could try to bring Sorocabana's a little bit higher in the standings. Harris has individually a great season in Brazil. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 7.1rpg (7th best). He also has a FGP of 51.2% and 3PT: 45.8%.
