Botafogo Rio de Janeiro U20 team (LDB U20) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old 186cm guard Joao Belmiro. It is actually his comeback to Rio de Janeiro as he has played here before. The last time (2023) he played at Brusque Basquete/ADB in Brazilian CBB league. Belmiro missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball.
He has played previously for two other teams: Pinda and Flamengo. His team made it to the LDB U20 League Semifinals in 2018 and 2019.
