Gabriel Landeira joins Paulistano

Paulistano Sao Paulo U20 team (LDB U20) added to their roster 20-year old guard Gabriel Landeira (198cm-90kg-2004). Landeira played last season at Corinthians in Brazilian NBB league. NBB was a little too high level for him, where in 24 games he had just 1.7ppg and 1.0rpg. LDB U20 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. He also played for Corinthians (NBB). The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. NBB was a little too high level for him, where in 24 games he recorded only 1.7ppg and 1.0rpg. Landeira also played 21 games in NBB for the same team last season where he averaged 3.0ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.0apg in 2022-23 year. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
Landeira represented Brazil at the FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana (Mexico) two years ago. Landeira's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 4.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.2apg, 1.0spg.
He has played previously professionally also in Spain (Zentro Basket and San Jorge) and Brazil (Flamengo and Botafogo).
Despite young age he had impressive career. Landeira played in the final of Paulista League in 2023. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-FIBA U18 South American Championship 1st Team in 2022.
