Bauru keeps Garcia for another season

Zapone Gocil/Bauru Basket (NBB) re-signed experienced 44-year-old ex-international 191cm guard Alex Garcia, agency: Interperformances, for the new season. He has played there for the last four seasons. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Garcia can count that season as very successful as he was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League Defensive Player of the Year, voted to All-Domestic Players Team, and selected to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League Second Team.
He was also a member of the Brazilian international program for some years. Garcia played for Brazilian Senior National Team between 2001 and 2021 and previously for the Under 21 National Team back in 2000.
He also represented Brazil at the World Cup in China 5 years ago. But his stats at that event were not that impressive as he didn't score anything.
Garcia is a very experienced player, thanks to his time playing professional basketball in four different countries on three different continents. He has experience in European, Latin American, and North American leagues. Garcia has played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, as well as the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. He has also played in Brazil for Minas, Ribeirao Preto, Pinheiros, and Brasilia.
He has won numerous awards throughout his career, including playing in the final of the Paulista League in 2016. In 2015, he was honored with the Latinbasket.com All-Liga Americas Player of the Year award. This season could be one of the last in his long career, which he might finish at Bauru.
