Brazilian LDB U20 round 11 best performance: Afonso Campos (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Afonso Campos (204-F) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sao Jose Basketball U20 team, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The player had a double-double of 21 points and 26 rebounds, while his team outclassed Coritiba (#8, 5-7) with 30-point margin 89-59. Sao Jose is placed at 4th position in Brazilian LDB U20. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sao Jose will need more victories to improve their 8-4 record. It's Campos' second year at Sao Jose and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Afonso Campos has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg) and averages impressive 65.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Carlos Farias (197-SF-2002) of Ponta Grossa Basquete U20 team. Farias had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led LDPG to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Cearense (#12, 1-11) 107-57. This victory allowed Ponta Grossa to move up to 7th position in Group A. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Farias is a newcomer at Ponta Grossa, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Kauan Raymundo (200-C/F-2005) of league's second-best Sport Club Corinthians Paulista U20 team. Raymundo scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Raymundo's great performance the Corinthians lost 72-74 to #1 ranked Flamengo. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. That was shocking loss for Corinthians and their fans. Hopefully so far almost perfect season will not turn around. They still have impressive 11-1 record in Group B. Raymundo plays for a very strong team and Corinthians has many quality players. So achieving that high stats is even more impressive. Raymundo has a great season in Brazil. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.7rpg (3rd best). He also has 2.8bpg and a FGP of 65.3%.

7. Winicius Braga (204-F-2005) of Minas - 21 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Lucas Andrade (192-G-2004) of Botafogo - 32 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Lucas Soares (188-SF-2003) of Ponta Grossa - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Leonardo Cravero (201-SF-2002) of Caxias do Sul - 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
