Top ranked Pinheiros (6-2) recorded its second loss in Sao Paulo on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-4) 90-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pinheiros. Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Pinheiros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Alex Garcia (191-1980, agency: Interperformances) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international point guard David Rossetto (182-1992) chipped in 14 points and 12 assists. Guard Reynan Dos Santos (192-2004) produced 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the hosts. Bauru moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Pinheiros at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Sesi/Franca and Sao Paulo.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#2) and Paulistano (#5). Paulistano was smashed at home by 19 points 72-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Lucas Dias contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (192-1993, college: Dartmouth) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for Paulistano. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vivo/Franca (6-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Sesi/Franca (6-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Pinheiros and Sao Paulo. Paulistano at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.

Corinthians was defeated at home 85-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Corinthians. Worth to mention a great performance of Tyrone Curnell who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Sao Paulo's coach Jorge Guerra used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Elio Corazza responded with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Sao Paulo (6-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sesi/Franca and Pinheiros. Loser Corinthians keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.

In the last game of round 8 Mogi was defeated by Sao Jose in a road game 83-73.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Mogi's (2-6) road loss to eighth ranked Sao Jose (4-4) 73-83 on Saturday. Sao Jose made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Sao Jose outrebounded Mogi 43-24 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Renato Carbonari (202-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and guard Matheus Silva (190-2001) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American guard Anthony Harris (191-1997, college: Chicago St.) responded with 19 points and point guard Felipe Gregate (188-2003) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Sao Jose and five Mogi players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sao Jose moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Mogi lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost.
