Kauan Raymundo claims Brazilian LDB U20 Hoops Agents weekly honour

Kauan Raymundo

Talented Kauan Raymundo (200-C/F-2005) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Sport Club Corinthians Paulista U20 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 19-year old had a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Minas (#5, 9-3) 83-78. Corinthians maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Brazilian LDB U20. Corinthians has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. Raymundo turned to be Corinthians' top player in his first season with the team. Raymundo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.4ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 2.7bpg and 60.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Fellipe Nunes (193-G-2004) of Botafogo Rio de Janeiro U20 team. Nunes impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Botafogo to another comfortable win 79-65 over Caxias do Sul (9-5) being unquestionably team leader. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Nunes is a newcomer at Botafogo and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Nathan Gomes (201-F-2003) of Cerrado Basquete Brasilia U20 team (#9). Gomes scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Cerrado, leading his team to a 78-56 easy win against UniFacisa (#11, 2-12). The chances of Cerrado ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gomes could help Cerrado to bring them higher in the standings. Gomes has a great season in Brazil. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (7th best). He also has 2.2spg and a FGP of 61.2%.

7. Tiago Faria (179-PG-2003) of Corinthians - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Guilherme Da Silva (194-PG-2003) of Cruzeiro - 31 points and 8 rebounds
9. Nicolas Cavero (205-PF-2004) of Cruzeiro - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Nathan Mariano (206-F/C-2003) of SESI Franca - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
