Bennett's 19 points and 6 rebounds give him Paulista Player of the Week award

36-year old American guard Cordero Bennett (184-G-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Sao Paulo FC and receives a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
He had the game-high 19 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Sao Paulo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Corinthians (#4, 2-5) 79-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sao Paulo maintains the 3rd position in Brazilian Paulista. Sao Paulo is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 3rd lost game this season out of 6 games. In the team's last game Bennett had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Sao Paulo, through which he has constantly improved. Bennett has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 15.7ppg) and averages solid 68.4% FGP.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) of league's second-best Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo. de Paula scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite de Paula's great performance the Vivo/Franca lost 71-73 to Paulistano (#5, 1-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Sesi/Franca needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 2 lost games. de Paula has a great season in Brazil. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (7th best). He also has 1.1bpg, a FGP of 61.3% and 3PT: 40.5%.
