Brazilian NBB round 3 best performance: Nate Barnes (by Hoops Agents)

American Point guard Nate Barnes (181-PG-1990) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pato Basquete, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 34-year old player tried to help (52 points and two assists) his team in a lost game to Sao Paulo (#4, 2-0) 81-88. Pato moved-up to the 14th position in Brazilian NBB. Pato is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 2nd lost game this season out of 3 games. In the team's last game Barnes had a remarkable 72.2% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. It's his second year at Pato and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Alderson Broaddus University star has very solid stats this year. Barnes is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.3ppg) and averages impressive 54.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international center Vitor Faverani (212-C-1988) of Sao Paulo FC. Faverani had a very good evening with 28 points and 8 rebounds. It was enough for Sao Paulo to edge Corinthians (0-2) 82-80. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Faverani is well-known at Sao Paulo and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.5ppg (#4). He also registered 8.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) of Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo (#5). de Paula showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Vivo/Franca, leading his team to a 79-74 win against Brasilia (#17, 0-3). Sesi/Franca has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. de Paula also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. de Paula has a very solid season. In 2 games in Brazil he scored 13.5ppg.
