Jose Carlos claims Brazilian CBB weekly honour

Jose Carlos (200-PF-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Basquete Blumenau/APAB and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 27-year old power forward had the game-high 30 points adding nine rebounds for Blumenau in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Joacaba (#5, 0-2) with 26-point margin 93-67. Blumenau maintains the 3rd position in Brazilian CBB. Blumenau is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Carlos had a remarkable 90.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Blumenau and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Carlos has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 8.0rpg) and averages solid 87.5% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Gabriel Soldi (202-SF-2000) of Santos Fupes. Soldi impressed basketball fans with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Santos lost that game 75-83 to Tatui (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Soldi is a newcomer at Santos and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#5). He also registered 7.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Jorge Iglesias (206-PF-1995) of Joacaba Basquete (#5). Iglesias scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Despite Iglesias' great performance the Joacaba lost 72-82 to Brusque (#1, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Joacaba can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. The season just started for Iglesias as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
