The game between third ranked Sorocabana 2 (3-4) and fourth ranked Minas (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Sorocabana 2 was defeated by Minas in Belo Horizonte 57-71. 25 personal fouls committed by Sorocabana 2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Fernando Fernandes (196-2005) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Lucas Nakazawa (180-2005) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. Victor Silva (197-2001) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds for Sorocabana 2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Minas moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Sorocabana 2. Sorocabana 2 lost fourth consecutive game. Minas is looking forward to face league's leader Cruzeiro on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sorocabana 2 will play against Vitoria and is hoping to win this game.

Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cruzeiro have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Sorocabana 2 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Minas. Cruzeiro will play against Minas (#3) in Belo Horizonte in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sorocabana 2 will play at home against Vitoria and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Vitoria - Pinheiros 2 76-70

Vitoria's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Pinheiros (2-4) 76-70 on Friday. Vitoria dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pinheiros's 30. Vitoria forced 24 Pinheiros 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for center Gabriel Mendes (206-1996) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Gabriel Melo (180-1999) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Five Vitoria players scored in double figures.
